Beas Kund is the glacial basin where the Beas river — one of the five rivers that give Punjab its name — begins its journey down from the mountains. The trek to it, starting from the ski-resort area of Solang Valley just outside Manali, is short enough to fit into a long weekend while still delivering genuine glacier-basin scenery, with Hanuman Tibba and the wider Pir Panjal range as a backdrop.

The route gains altitude steadily over three days rather than pushing hard on any single stage, making it a comfortable option for trekkers with limited high-altitude experience who still want to reach close to 3,900m and stand at a genuine glacial lake.

Given its proximity to Manali, Beas Kund is frequently combined with other short activities in the Solang Valley area, making it a practical choice for travelers with only a few extra days built into a broader Himachal itinerary.
